I wrote the following letter to the editor of the RSPB magazine urging her to have the courage to print it.
After watching Sir David Attenborough’s Frozen Planet programme on television I was left with an overwhelming sadness brought on by the sight of Professor Bill Fraser of the Polar Ocean Research Group for forty five years in tears at the demise of young Adelie penguins due to the effect of global warming.
This was a vision of utter despair and encapsulated all that is wrong with humanity.
Upon reading the latest edition of the RSPB magazine and seeing again the ads for bird watching trips across the globe by air and sea I was elevated to anger that our magazine is actually promoting and therefore contributing to the pollution that is without doubt killing our planet.
Is this a case of rank hypocrisy or am I missing something?
